WebMagick

WebMagick makes image collections available on the Web. It recurses through directory trees, building HTML pages, imagemap files, and client-side/server-side maps or HTML tables to allow the user to navigate through collections of thumbnail galleries. Using JavaScript, HTML tables and cookies, WebMagick can also allow the viewer to configure how they view the gallery. The primary focus of WebMagick is performance. Image thumbnails are reduced and composed into a single image to reduce client accesses, reducing server load and improving client performance. Everything is pre-computed. During operation WebMagick employs innovative caching and work-avoidance techniques to make successive executions much faster. WebMagick has been successfully executed on directory trees containing many hundreds of directories and hundreds of thousands of images ranging from tiny icons to large JPEGs and PDF files.

bbgallery

BBGallery is a small Perl script for generating a number of HTML files from jpeg images to make up an image gallery. It uses The Gimp and Gimp-Perl to create thumbnails and to scale the images. Auto-Gallery

Auto-Gallery automates the maintenance of large picture archives. You can add new pictures by simply uploading them. All you need to do is put pictures on your server and the program does the rest. It even determines the height and width of the pictures for you to make your pages look more professional and load faster. Structured Web Image Gallery System

SWIGS is a system for creating hierarchically organized sets of thumbnail galleries. Multiple sizes for each image are produced automatically, and each image can be annotated with a relevant description, date, photo credit, etc. The image galleries (albums) have a tree structure, each album possibly containing pictures and/or additional albums. The album is made up of a set of webpages: a set of thumbnail pages for the images in the gallery, a text-only list of all the images in the album (with description if available), and a page listing all the sub-albums of the current album, with a description and sample image for each.

indexpage.pl

indexpage.pl generates one or more index pages and the corresponding thumbnails for displaying images on the web. If there are more images available than will fit on one page with the specified number of rows and columns, indexpage.pl will generate more than one page, each with a navigator to easily reach the other pages. The pages will be called "index.html", "2.html", "3.html", and so on. There are lots of configuration options determining how the generated pages should look. Image descriptions are read from a file, eliminating the need to ever edit the files after generating them; they can always be regenerated for ease of maintaining.

Image Display System

IDS is a CGI written in Perl that generates a photo album website on the fly. All you need to provide are the images and (optionally) text descriptions. As you add new pictures, they will appear automatically. Each image will be displayed with information such as image type, file size, image size, and date uploaded. If EXIF information is embedded in the image (shutter speed, aperature, focal length, etc.), it will be displayed. It will create thumbnail preview images for JPEG, PNG, and GIF images. It will also recognize and display QuickTime movies, MPEG movies, and MP3 files. IDS uses HTML templates, so you can easily customize the look of your site.

PhotoShelf is a web-based digital image management, archive and display system written in Perl, backended by PostgreSQL. It is used to catalogue and arrange into albums photos from a digital camera or any other source. It aims to be very featureful and a complete solution for the only place where your photos need to be stored. 	SLIKPIKS is a set of Perl scripts wrapped in a Perl CGI to help with the automation of creating html photobooks for a set of JPEGs. cthumb

cthumb allows you to create an html picture album, with an index and several pages, each with thumbnails of your pictures. Optionally, it generates the same pages in several languages simultaneously. It automatically generates thumbnails of the pictures. It attempts to be nice in the look of the pages it generates. It is geared towards people that have ton of digital images that need to be labeled and classified. All you need is the pictures and a text editor to put all the titles for every picture in a simple "album" textfile. It also allows you to customize almost everything in the way the albums look on the screen, from the size of the thumbnails to the background and foreground colors, the border colors, whether you want film-strips, etc.

Led-Full Image

	This script allows you to display (link to) full images and still keep them in your template design by using SSI's and cgi executes. All this allows you to dynamically generate seemingly individual pages for each image (which would normally be a lot of work).

POD-l

The POD-l script is another Picture of the Day script. POD-l will display a thumbnail image on a given page that is linked to a full-size image. The image changes every day from a pool of images in a directory of your choosing. POD does require SSI (Server Side Includes). Other features include: Comprehensive error handling where all errors are logged, Image displays are logged - date, image filename and number displays, and Advanced file locking using the semaphore system.

	This is a simple Perl script that returns an img src tag containing the width and height of a gif image. This subroutine can be used to automatically include gif sizes in the posted newspapers, rotating advertisements from the ad server, etc.
