WebFTP overcomes this issue by making a FTP connection from your webserver to the FTP server of you liking and transfering the files from this web server to your webclient over the standard http protocol.

The DigiOz Directory Indexer is a simple script that looks into a subfolder inside the directory it resides in and lists all the files in that folder, displaying them in a linked format on the screen, along with the date modified and size of the file. This script comes particularly handy when you have a huge list of files you have to post a link to on a page, and don't want to type the link to them by hand one by one. This script goes through all subdirectories starting from where it is installed and outputs all files with links to them, showing CHMOD information in numerical and unix style. If one of your directories doesn't have the right permissions for the script to scan it, it will output the troublemaking directory in the end of the files table with an '[Error]' marking next to it. If you still want to scan that specific directory you will have to chmod it to allow 'other' read and execute. It can be used for easy file accessing and perhaps for an index file, if file listing is not allowed. Now with the possibility of changing the output the script (unix style/numerical permissions/both, show errors).
