Anti Spam Image Validation

	An antispam image script written in PHP, generates a code, creates an image out of it, and registers this code in a session. User input will be checked against this session value. If it is valid no spambot is the one that is submitting this form. Only 2 lines of code needed to use it in your website.

Crop Canvas

This is a class allows you to crop an image in a variety of ways. You can crop in an absolute or relative way (to a certain size or by a certain size), both as a pixel number or a percentage. You can also save or display the cropped image. The cropping can be done in 9 different positions: top left, top, top right, left, centre, right, bottom left, bottom, or bottom right. Or you can have it automatically cropped based on a threshold value. The original image can be loaded from the file system or from a string (for example, data returned from a database.) Not only all that, but it also comes with a drag & drag web interface for exceptional ease of use.

ImageThumb is a small piece of software written in the PHP language that lets you create thumbnails on the fly for a given image, whether it is local ore remote. Currently supported formats are GIF, PNG and JPEG. Now supports thumbnail caching in a directory of your choice. To use this script, you must have the GD library installed, and obiously a webserver capable of running PHP scripts (PHP >= 4.0.4).

Copyright It! is a tool that allows you to add copyright notices directly onto your images without any fussing around in image editors. You can either use the program yourself, or add it to your web sites to add functionality. The program lets you enter the copyright text, the font size, and the color of the notice. The program also uses a unique temporary file system, so your server doesn't get overloaded with files.

Image Hotlink Log and Control

This collection of PHP scripts allows you to easily log and control hotlinking of images on your Apache hosted web site. You can see who is linking your images and how much bandwidth they are leeching. You can also control what happens to individual hotlinkers - you can block images, substitute images, or best of all you can watermark hotlinked images with a text message such as your URL. Whenever someone hotlinks one of your images, you can promote your site! These scripts are free for any purpose under the terms of the LGPL but a link back to us here at SillyJokes would be nice.

phpWatermark

PHP Stego

	Steganography in PHP??? you bet. This is a PHP script that can hide files in images. It takes a JPG and converts to PNG. It requires GDlib and is almost totally pointless, but I was bored and hey, someone might actually have a use for it. enjoy :-)

Progressive Image Switcher - Cropper

	Change Progessive Images to Non-Progressive Images and Thumbnails for PHP-Flash applications. This script can also be used to dynamically create cropped thumbnails for any application. While this script was only written for Jpeg images, because progressive JPEG images can not be displayed in Flash applications using ActionScript, it can be changed for other image types.

jpg resize

I quickly wrote this script to help out a web hosting client whose developer was insisting I install ImageMagik on our server. It allows you to put up resized versions of jpegs without going through the fuss of working on them with a graphics editor. There are three functions: image_resize allows you to specify a new width and height for an image. image_horizontal_resize and image_vertical_resize are wrappers for the first and allow you to specify only the width or the height. The last parameter in these functions is a boolean, and determines if the original image is made available for download or not.

Exif Grabber

	This script uploads to your website and is accessed through a specifically formatted URL. You can then view the EXIF information of any of the images hosted on your site. Use for educational purposes, or just to look at the pretty table created.

Drop Shadowed Thumbnail Creator

Image Masking

This is a class allows you to apply a mask to an image much like you could do in PhotoShop, Gimp, or any other such image manipulation programme. If the mask is smaller than the image then the mask can be placed in various positions (top left, left, top right, left, centre, right, bottom left, bottom, bottom right) or the mask can be resized to the dimensions of the image. Requires GD 2.0.1+ Because of the nature of the class, masking large images may take some time.
