Generate Web Project Templates with Deploy

Deploy's Interface

One of the rules that web developers need to live by is not to reinvent the wheel. Consider the starting point of most web projects – you create a set of folder trees to store your images, CSS and JavaScript. You’ll probably even create a master HTML file with some meta tags, link to your CSS and JavaScript frameworks. This starts getting repetitive every time you have to work on a new project unless you have a project template created.

If you don’t have a project template defined yet, then Deploy will create one for you. Deploy is a new online service which allows users to quickly generate a web project folder structure in only a few seconds. After filling in a form with different customization options, it will instantly generate a .zip file for you. The form will also bookmark your settings and you can return later to re-download the same .zip file.

Deploy offers different options – you can specify your HTML Doctype, JavaScript libraries inclusion and it even offers the possibility to create template’s include files for headers and footers. Overall Deploy is a pretty neat tool to use if you want to save a few minutes when starting a new project.
