I'm old-school development, (learned on NotePad).

I also do a lot of audio for radio so I use the Cool Edit suite from Adobe.
I'm a network engineer/security admin too, so I use:
NetTools 4 for most of my network needs, trace route programs, etc.
It's all part of development for internal networking/intranets...
