I had someone send me a new template that they liked. Its a myspace template. The whole point was to get across how easy it is to change the look of the site from just one area. I am taking some progressive steps like providing screen shots and other things. I did get alot of great feed back and a new feature request from one of the users here. I always appreciate the feedback.
Anyway, the suggestion was that while the abilty to post videos is good there wasn't a way to post your own content, let's say a musician or video producer or what have you, so I spent the last couple days doing that. Baring the long explainations I finally updated the listing on hotscripts.

I should have done this first, but anyone who wants to see the css stylesheet and template builder first hand let me know. I'll grant you temporary admin access so you can play around with it, or even try out different templates of your own.
And yes, it's written in Perl. Most people have moved on to something else for the sake of ease and convenience. I should say that the general public has moved on to something else, but to this day Perl is the backbone for alot of infrastructure and technology. Security, banking and finance, Communications, etc. Usually where you see legacy C# applications, Ruby, Python, etc you'll find perl.
Python and Ruby walk hand in hand with Perl. But Ruby is really old-school. Ever hear people talk about Ruby on Rails? Yeah... old school.
Alot of my contracts, even military contracts are perl or perl-related. The money is rediculous too because there is a shortage of perl programmers out there. If you do a google search for perl jobs you'll see jobs for 70k a year and up. like I said, rediculous.
