  1. Desperately need to get a job to survive
  2. Go to the library and get programming books
  3. Read to a certain point in the books word for word, until you've absorbed enough to start trying things out...this usually means the first 3-5 chapters or so. Go back and re-read as much as you need to for the concepts to sink in.
  4. Start programming when you've absorbed enough
  5. Search online for anything you don't know, or reference the books
  6. Be confident
