Try taking a screenshot of the image when you have the PDF open. Then paste it into a freeware program like
Paint.NET (it has pretty decent features and is totally free). If you need to go back to PDF, then yeah, you would need software...whether you do it in Word, and convert to PDF, or use FoxEdit or Acrobat itself.
