Yea true that!
Cheaper is not better. I do a lot of tranfers for domain names, and its my Opinion that you should keep the registered domains with the company your hosting with.
Even if they are not the cheapest.
Why? Because you set yourself up for problems.
If you are one of those who goes for the cheapest game. Here is what will happen. Someone may leave your Business and it was the person who handled all your domains, or you registered them for 4 years and forgot about them. One day your website doesn't come up. Your hosting provider says its not there problem you registered it with someone else.
It all they can say, they can't reregister your domain unless its through them.
You don't know who, you didnt keep your information when you registered it. You call the hosting business again for help, Good Support will try to help you with this. PS: A whois on DNSStuff.com can give you information on that.
So your down and its 24 - 48 hours before your back up.
The moral of my story is DONT be a cheap jerk.
This of corse is not ment to those who go around Buying domain names like its candy to someday make there fortune on selling them to the highest bidder. You guys had your hay day in the 1990's and that ride is just about over.
So Stop Buying Doamin names, good marketing now depends on SEO skills not how many doamins you have.
Hope this isn't too Ranty for everyone but I can't tell you how many headaches this has caused me form others.
