HotScripts.com is currently in the process of enhancing the way members log into HotScripts.com and the Forums. Our intent is to make it so that you can move freely between the forums and HotScripts.com with the same username and password and without being prompted to log in at each place.
To accomplish this, we are currently adding all of the HotScripts.com users to the Forums users database. You may have seen a sharp spike in the number of users in these forums. That is why.
Also, we have changed the cookie information which you get when you log into the forums. This will likely explain why you may have been prompted to log in despite having your username and password "saved".
As we are doing this import of users, we are not importing users from HotScripts.com if:
1) Their username already exists over here in the forums, and
2) If their e-mail address already exists over here in the forums
We will work on resolving any issues #1 and #2 may cause in a timely fashion when we actually turn on the authentication against the forums database.
Additionally, many usernames are actually a person's e-mail address. For obvious reasons, we will be incorporating an interface to allow you to change your username in the event this is the case. This interface will be implemented within the next few days. In the meantime, we will likely be turning off the member directory to prevent harvesting of e-mail addresses.
We will keep you informed of any issues we encounter in this process.
Thank you.
