Two new Features!
As some of you might have already noticed, we just added two new features to the board.
One of which is the ability mark a thread as solved. This features allows the OP to make it know to other uses that he has solved his problem. This will hopefully prove useful in weeding through threads that are and aren't in need of help. To make use of this feature, simply click on the 'Thread Tools' drop down menu and then click 'Mark this thread as solved'.
The second new feature is a 'Thank You' system. You can use this feature to thank the user or users who have helped you with your problem/question/etc. This is a nice alternative to vB's reputation system as it isn't as prone to abuse. To use this, all you have to do is select the button under the appropriate postbit.
Enjoy!

The solved option is a great idea, although not easy to find if you dont know where it is, and in essence, so is the Thanks button. All you have to do now is hope that people notice them and use them instead of leaving thanks posts anyway . Perhaps you should have mentioned that the solved option is in the thread tools of any thread you have started

This is the first time Ive been on here since I registered ... back in 2003. Im pleased I picked now to read the announcements as I didnt realise that the [Solved] option was available. Its fantastic! As for the "thanks" Ive already given one away
Can I take this oppertunity to perhaps provide an idea about the thanks option. Although its all good having a thanks for when someone solves your problem it would be nice to perhaps have another button which has a "Thanks Anyway" because its sometimes that someone has responded to your post but was unable to solve the problem. Im not sure if thanks is more suited to those who solve your problem rather than just thanks to everything.
...Ok Ive been working too hard and that probably sounded a little pidantic but Im keeping it on my message in hope others see my point of view...probably just end up getting myself a reputation instead though... :s

Why not just give everyone that tried to help a "thanks"? (For the effort, if you think he deserved it). Sounds easier than adding multiple buttons.

Alright, alright - so I aimed for efficiency and ended up with a reputation instead
Ill use the "Thanks" button as a "Thanks Anyway"

Yeah, it would. Prob is that this is a skin for vBulletin made by cinvin, and it might not have included a thanks button with it (im guessin it hasnt or they might have used it ). There should be psd files included though that can be used to make the buttons

Well, if we're going that route we also need: Didn't Work; Dumb Idea; Read post tried that; and my favorite You're showing the world your ignorance, again.
