We've always been the "unofficial HotScripts.com forum". Now it's more like .... official.

I take back what I previously said. The new features are really nice. The keywords for urls was a surprise feature I didn't realize. Is there a list of new features/functions that were added with the new integrated forum? Might be nice to see whatelse is available now.
The layout hasn't grown on me yet, but it probably will.

Right now we are just running a (almost) standard vB installation. There will be further integration and new features that will be coming soon.

I like the design, but I think the layout could benefit from vertical reduction.
Ideas:
Move Log In, Sign Up, etc under the HotScripts log.
Shift the search up a little bit - so that the height of the top banner is about 100px.
Remove the ProgrammingTalk.com bar from the top of the page. It could be placed in the left area.
Make the navigation shorter. Slightly smaller font, less padding.
Move the 'advertisement' text to the left/right of the top banner ad.

As long as it's the same people posting here, this can only mean improvement.
I like the new forum updates by the way.

This sure brings back memories. When I joined back in 2003, it was HotScripts forum then it was changed to programmingtalk and now we are back (again) to HotScripts forums
The new theme is easy on the eye. I like it.

I feel out of step, but I gotta say...
I don't like the new look. It's less functional than the old format.
I don't care if the two sites are merged, but the changes to the forums are a step in the wrong direction, in my humble opinion.
Everything is bigger, with way too much space between all the elements, and just plain retro-funky looking. Seriously, what was wrong with the previous forum style or look? Nothing, that's what.
Call me a grump, but I don't see any improvement- what I see is now more obtuse, more difficult to use, and less functional. I'm logged in, but I still see a link to login. That's poor design.
Requiring more clicks to get to everything is NOT an improvement, it's bloody annoying. That's poor design.
The 'New Scripts" listing is frustrating- it hides more information than it exposes. I hate having to click though just to see what something is, so now I don't do it anymore. It's just a pain in the butt. C'mon- what was the point of changing that to make it worse? That's poor design.
The login boxes are enormous, almost laughably so. Why use a login box that takes up a 1/4 of the page? Someone else pointed this out and I agree 100%. It's just silly design changes for no apparent reason. That's poor design too.
Hate me all ya want, but I think HotScripts and ProgrammingTalk are losing the plot. I find since the changes that I just don't enjoy the site as much as I used to, so I don't come here as much and don't feel like answering questions in the forums as much. (Some of you will applaud that, lol.)
If the goal of the redesign was to frustrate me and encourage me to spend my time elsewhere, it's succeeding.
PS- The front page isn't updating anymore, but I'm sure someone must have noticed that by now and is working on it, right?
PPS- You aren't alone in the "we gotta redesign stuff just because we gotta redesign stuff" syndrome. Some goofball with a head injury decided to "redo" the freshmeat.net site and f*cked that place up beyond all redemption. I guess it was too useful and functional and things were too easy to find. They sure as *&#$ fixed that. They should have renamed the site "Retard Puzzle Trek" because that's what it feels like to me.

I don't know if this is because of the new design or not but I have to wait 90 seconds in between my posts? That's odd I use this quick reply alot and never ran into this before. If you trying to prevent bots isn't 30 seconds enough?
