Angry asp.net and dreamweaver

Hello

I have the same issues you had, did you ever solve the problem, and how do you know if .net framework 1.1 or 2.0 is installed and working?

I could find the asp tab when I went to ISS manager but I not sure what file/folder to click on and view the properties. Do you click on your sites folder or the actual .aspx doc and then view properties. I didn't see a asp.net tab on anything.

Any one else help?

This is a simple problem to fix. The dreamweaver controls (.dll) should be in a folder called "bin" in the root of the website. The website HAS to be configured as an "application" in IIS. Do these two things and you wont get these errors. Sorry, but you still may get errors associated with other portions of your scripts.

  • Open IIS manager
  • Open the nodes ( + signs ) until you see "Default web site"
  • Assuming you are on a windows dev maching running IIS6 (XP Pro or Server 2003)
  • Right click on "Default Web Site" and choose "properties"
  • Click on the "Home Directory" Tab
  • In the "Application Settings" portion of this tab you will see "application name"
  • If "Default Application" is already in the box, youre good.
  • If you are using a subfolder of the root of the site , ie, c:/inetpub/wwwroot/subfolder, then click the "Create" button to make the folder and application.
  • Click OK and close the dialog. Youre done.
Hope this helps
