I'm not sure if this exactly what you mean but I'm using a piece of javascript on my site to increase the size of the contact form area and have also successfully integrated it in to a wordpress theme on the comments area. The source files are here, it's pretty simple to use, upload the JS files, put a bit of JS on your page to call the files and voila, stretchy elastic text boxes that automatically increase the height.
