Thumbs up ASP.Net Locally

I would like to set up .net locally on this network. I am running a network with approx 50 comps... The server is running 2k3.

It would be nice to run the whole taco on this machine (XP) for now until I get it all working...

I have installed IIS on this machine. I also have the .net framework (installed before IIS) on this machine.

I dumped my ASPX files in Inetpub and expected them to work but no dice. Do I need to configure anything special?

This can't be that hard....

Am I dreaming?

to acces your web application from a computer on your network you should type

http://servername/webappfolder/defaultpage.aspx

where servername is your server machine name, webappfolder is the folder in the wwroot in which you have your aspx files, and defaultpage.aspx is your home page.

Also if you're using codebehind, don't forget to copy the bin directory along with your aspx files

run ASP pages to publish later. I would like to design and test the page here and then upload later...

Unfortunately I am on location and this is not my network... So I have limited jurisdiction over the servers...

If I can talk them into letting me host the pages on my net case closed, but... I have to convince them first.
