My company has developed a Learning and Content Management System (LCMS) using ASP (there is some .NET) and SQL Server 2000.
I are currently exploring the idea of releasing the source code to the Microsoft development community under an open source agreement. If you or someone you know would be interested in participating please reply to this post with your contact information and why you are interested. (You may also send an email to
info@ichu.com with the subject "Open Source LCMS")
The LCMS was developed to allow non-technical people to build, deliver and manage online training programs. Some key points:
- build online courses using instructional templates
- create random exams and quizzes
- create content using a WYSIWYG editor and share content among courses
- include interactive exercises and games in your course
- support for SCORM packages and SCORM runtime (version 1.2)
- communicate with students using surveys, forums, and live chat
