hello all
I hope that someone can help me in solving my problem which is when I try to add records to my access database table from asp code, an error show up telling me that the file or the object is read only and you can not write to it, even though the propreties of the database file is set to read and write but i still having the same problem.
Hope this helps somewhat. I face similar type of problems when i manually try to add record to access (.mdb) file using access tools, the reason it ignores my request used to be version incompability. I did my project in my university using Access 97 Database but have Access 2000 at my pc at home. So i need to first convert the Access file to current version from Tools menu selecting Conversion-> Current Version. But really doesnot shows any error for adding records just ignores the operation or request.
Make sure the folder that the database is in is set to Read/Write for anonymiss users.
I really dont think its a version problem, i code a portal and have used access 97, 2000, and 2000 using the same string no problem.
