Question Global.asa

Hello I have a program with a global.asa file which is in the root C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\global.asa and the files that are using it are in a sub-directory C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\motocycle\index.asp. But it does not work like this. I made motorcycle an application name, as suggested by someone previously but it is still not working. Can anyone help me is it even possible for it to work like this?

the global.asa file should always be in root which from the sounds of it, it is. Are you sure the application variable is being called correctly, also what sort of errors are you getting?

it might also be worth checking with your hosting company to check that you have access to this function as some hosting companies dont allow access to this file.

hope this sheds some light.

if "motocycle" is a virtual directory then the global.asa needs to go in here, the global.asa always goes in the root folder for the current application

Not sur eif you have access to do this or not but you need to make sure that your application includes subdirectories. Otherwise, you will not have access to the global asa from the subdirectories. I would contact your hosting company and ask them to set it up this way. It is relatively simple to do so.
