Help me Choose a Compiler

Hi guys.

I have been taking a C++ course in school for a few months now and Its time I take my skills home. I'd like to make simple programs to help me with various things. I asked my teacher what compiler she thinks is best, she handed me 5 floppy disks w/ Turbo C++ on it. I don't have a floppy drive lol! I never bothered buying one .

Everyone suggests Borland but I really don't want to go through the installation. All I need is a simple compiler that recognizes libraries like iostream, conio, etc. I used BloodShed but simple programs wouldn't work.

Is Turbo C++ up for DL?

Thanks
