<b>Basic MainMedia Chat Help</b>
<br><br><br>
Q. Chatting doesn't work for me/How do I get started chatting?<br>
A. For most effective use of the chat, make sure you type a name before joining; this name can include numbers (0-9),
and letters (A-Z), but NO other symbols or characters. It also must be more than 6, but less than 10 characters in length.
Once you have submitted your name and joined the chat, you may see a pop-up box asking you whether or not you wish to run
the chat, click "Run" or in some cases "Trust". Also, if you still can't see the chat, make sure you have a decent web browser
(eg. Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Opera, ect.). And make sure your web browser is set to allow Java applications. If
the chat applet appears as blue instead of red, you may be encountering problems and should try refreshing the page or contact
the admin via forum pm or the Contact Us page. If your username appears as "Anon7654" or something simular, then the nick name you chose is taken
(being used by someone else on another chat application). To change your nickname simply type a different nickname in the box
at bottom far right of the applet and press the "Enter" key. To send messages in the chat, simply type the message you wish
to send in the box at the bottom of the applet and press the "Enter" key.
<br><br>
Q. Whenever I say something in the chat it doesn't it show up. Why?<br>
A. This may be because the chat mode is set to 'Moderated'. Meaning that only special users with a 'voice' or Moderaters can
chat. The chat is sometimes in "Moderated" mode to prevent spam attacks, and to prevent certain banned users from breaking the
rules by posting inappropriate material. Though almost always the chat won't be in this mode.
<br><br>
Q. Wait...What the heck is a "voice"? And what are those funny symbols next to certain users' names?<br>
A. When a user has a "@" next to their nick name, that means they are a moderator to the chat. Moderators can ban, kick, and voice
users from the chat. A "+" next to their nick name, are "voiced" users. Voiced users are users that are allowed to send messages
to the chat durring "Moderated" mode.
<br><br>
Q. I have a mIRC client and would like to connect to the MainMedia chat using that. How?<br>
A. Open your mIRC client, make sure your internet connection is valid and your client is working properly. Then all you have to
do is type "/server irc.us.gamesurge.net" (I believe), or connect to GameSurge.net using your client manualy. Once thats done,
type "/join #mainmedia" to connect to MainMedia's chat.
<br><br>
Q. How do I create an account with the chat, and do I have to do it?<br>
A. You <i>can</i> create an account to use with the chat, all moderators MUST have accounts. But normal users don't need chat
accounts. If you would still like an account, you can register one <a href="http://www.gamesurge.net/createaccount/">here</a>.
To login to your account simply type "/as auth ACCOUNTNAME PASSWORD". Replace "ACCOUNTNAME" with your account name, and "PASSWORD"
with your account password.
<br><br>
Q. Someone is bothering me in the chat. What do I do?<br>
A. About the only thing you can do when this happens is ask the person to kindly stop (assuming what they're doing is against the
rules), and if they continue to do it, leave the chat, go onto the forum and pm an admin saying their nickname and what it was
they've done or contact us on the Contact Us page. In time, an admin will handle it. And if it gets too far out of control, the chat will be placed in "Moderated"
mode.
<br><br>
Q. Something else is bothering me. Where can I find help for this?!<br>
A. For additional chatting support, while in the chat, type "/join #support" to get fast chatting help. If that doesn't work try
"/join #help" and ask your question(s) there. If it is a matter they cannot help you with, then try contacting an admin on the
forum or the Contact Us page. Also, "@Chanserv" is a robot. So, if it doesn't reply to your messages, that's normal.
<br><br><br>
<b>MainMedia Chat Rules</b>
<br><br><br>
Basicly, the Rules for this chat are the same for the forum. But remember, this chat is what you might call "PG" and ONLY in <i>some</i>
cases "PG-13" rated. And that's only when Moderators (aka. "OPs") are present. If ANYthing gets too far out of hand, I WILL set it to
Moderated mode. Anyways, so cutting to the chase, the basic rules are (but are not limited to):
</center><align=left><br><br>
1. No cursing or using bad language. <br>
2. No constant talk or references to sexual matters or anything of THAT sort. <br>
3. No disrespecting others in chat or getting into constant fights with other users. <br>
4. Do not post links to sites other than MainMedia in the chat unless you're SURE its G/PG rated. <br>
5. No sexaully harrasing any user, giving out personal info or asking to meet in real life. <br>
</align><br><br><center>
Also: Don't change your nickname tons of times in a row, post the same thing many times, or generally don't do things onces told to stop.
Once a moderator tells you to stop doing something, you do it. Or you'll be banned/kicked from the chat. <br><br><br>
<b>Chat Disclaimer</b>
<br><br>

align=left is a property of an element. <align=left></align> is not an element. And even if you do take it out it won't fix your problem. Put your text segments in div elements and apply CSS to the div's.

Thanks! But erm... what'd I do wrong? I use the wrong break tags? What do you mean "this way"? (I'm new to coding, and also most of my website is coded this way =/)
I really am sorry you got into this bad habit.
There are too many things wrong to tell you what's wrong.
Take a look at it this way. It's easier to read and you will have more control
over the layout of the page.

Also, read your text, you have some problems there.
I noticed that the borders were not showing up in IE.
I added in an conditional comment for IE that will correct that problem.
Also I changed the iframes border="0" to frameborder="0".
But I can not fix the way menu.htm looks in the iframe because that problem lies in menu.htm.

"/join #help" and ask your question(s) there. If it is a matter they cannot help you with, then try contacting an admin on the

</div><div class="paragraph_header">MainMedia Chat Rules</div><div class="paragraph_text">
</div><div class="ol_container"><ol><li>No cursing or using bad language.</li><li>No constant talk or references to sexual matters or anything of THAT sort.</li><li>No disrespecting others in chat or getting into constant fights with other users.</li><li>Do not post links to sites other than MainMedia in the chat unless you're SURE its G/PG rated.</li><li>No sexaully harrasing any user, giving out personal info or asking to meet in real life.</li></ol></div><div class="paragraph_text">
Also: Don't change your nickname tons of times in a row, post the same thing many times, or generally don't do things onces told to stop.
Once a moderator tells you to stop doing something, you do it. Or you'll be banned/kicked from the chat.

Oh my! That's incredible. I knew I stunk at coding...but I didn't know I stunk that badly! Thanks.
Edit: Also fixed some grammar and spelling mistakes and decreased the height of the iframe by 10 pixels. (I was tired yesterday when I coded that page, which could account for those mistakes, but to be more serious, most of my coding is done that way. You see, my friend Alex coded the index, then said "Basically, add "<BR>" for a line break "<b>" for bold, "<i>" for italics, <u> for underline, and "<a href="linkhere">text here</a>" for links. Also remember to add a closing tag as "</>, and pretty much just modify the example page I'm giving you") So, this is quite bad.
