I Think that Oracle Data Base Engine is the most powerful and Secure Data Base Engine at the Moment..
PL/SQL has Great Features, I Develop complete programs using Oracle Tables/Functions/Procedures and PL/SQL Scripts..
That's it.. believe me start knowing about Oracle..
Thanks to HotScripts Forums.

Well actually I don't think that mysql is the most used database!

mySQL is used a lot because it's free, but i think that in the industry and in banks and bigger concerns who have lots of data to manage, Oracle is there prefered choice, because it has some functionality that mySQL doesn't have, and it can handle GB's of data.

Storing GB's of data in mySQL might work but it will lover performance and be complicated to import or export this data

Squeezer is correct. MySQL is no way the most popular database. It's probably not even close. MySQL is missing a lot of key features and hasn't even finished implementing all of the ANSI SQL standard features. MySQL doesn't even support stored procedures, triggers or anything like that. Sure, this isn't a problem for basic-intermediate apps, but for larger applications requiring these functions, it becomes a problem.

Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and even IBM DB2 are the major players in the industry.

Yeah, but why is Oracle so much?.. is it really that good or just grossly overpriced.
