JAVA & JSP Module Dilemma!!

hello all

i,m in abit of dilemma, im at a final yr student at uni and i have a module to choose from which consists of java.

my dilemma is this:

i have 3 other modules to do which i can fairly say i can handle with hard work plus a finaly year project which will be back breaking.

the 1st module is called Advanced Web Programming which basicaly looks like a jave module after asking the lecturer some questions below:

i wanted to ask you if the module is java intensive module and how much of
it is there?

java/jsp 75%

or is java a small part and we will be look at diiferent languages as we go
on?

xml, javascript

and if the assignment would be a compliation of everything we learnt or java based?
everthing but mainly java/jsp

the second module is called new techonolgies which is basicaly pick a new emerging tech i.e WIFI and do a research and present it in a presentation part of a group and 5000 word report which i think i can get an good grade in.

my dilemma is i,m a tech person and enjoy geeky stuff but i have no experience with JAVA or JSP or C++ at all. and the other module i can do no probs.

i know there going to be a lot of work to do with other mods and final yr project but do i do the JAVA module because i like it althought i have no clue about java, as if this was a 2nd year module i would taken it no question but final yr grades mean everything towards the calssification.

or do i take the other module which i can do no probs and get a good grade but i wont neccessarly enjoy.

please feel free to give me your opionions asap. as i have to sort this asap.

How much time do you have to complete the task(s)? If it's a short amount of time, then I would say go with what you know best... However, if you have a long time to complete the project, then it's meant for you to explore and learn new things. In that case, take the leap forward and learn Java, JSP and those technologies you don't know. Afterall, when you get into the tech field you'll be learning new technologies all the time.

I need more specifics on the project to answer that question. Most tasks can be completed in a variety of languages.
