Question Accessing Non-Global Variables

Is it possable to access non-global variables (variables that are created and only accessed from that specific application) in Microsoft Windows XP (or any other OS version) using Java and altering them? An examle might be Microsoft Word and any variables it uses like what text has been typed, etc. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...
