I need help for a script in swishmax ...pls help

I want to know how to restrict the lenght number to a text field in swishmax with a script...the field should not be bigger then 13 or smaller...if it is i want to display an error. If is = 13 should pass to the next step. I hope someone to understand what im trying to say and to help me. Thank you!
