Question New

Hey, I decided to start learning ActionScript since it seemed interesting and since I don't have $400 to spend on one piece of software.
Anyhow, I took some online courses, but they never contained details on how to script with ActionScript using a notepad, starting as basic as it gets...No softwares.

So I wonder...What are the openings and closings of ActionScript, how do I get the notepad to recognize it as AS, and what is the extension?

Sorry for being such a noob ,
Shaffer

there are no opening or closing tags for ActionScript. the extension is .as
you can't use these classes in your flash applications, cause they need to be compiled first.
In Macromedia, srry Adobe, Flash, you can't compile classes themselves. you need to build an .fla file (flash application), and it will compile the classes that you load into that .fla file automaticly.

You don't have to spend $400 to a program: just download a free trial, or search the web for a free flash editor, i'm sure you'll find something.
An editor is ways better than notepad, cause most of the time it has collor coding, which helps you to debug.
