Info about project:
PHP Point Of Sale is designed to help small businesses with keeping track of customers, inventory, finances and generate reports based on sales. This program works great for businesses that use cash, check, or account numbers for their sales.
The program is entirely web based and use mysql for the backend. I have done a lot of work on it, but I could use someone who is pretty skilled to enhance 2 parts of the program.
Project is on sourceforge and has received over 20,000 downloads. (

I am looking for a report developer and Sales developer . I am to the point where I have to offer pay for someone to help me with these parts of the program. I won't pay a lot, since it is open source, but I feel that these parts are lacking in the program and needs to be improved.
Here is what I think needs to be added for reports:
* Ability to export reports to PDF for easy printing.
* Easier to read reports that look more profesional
* Totals on the bottom of all reports. (Total amout of an item sold, total amount of prodcut sold...ect)
* More reports. (Brand reports, category reports, tax report..)
* A better way of displaying items purchased in a sale. The current way opens a new window. I was thinking they could just click an arrow button to expand the sale and see the details then click an arrow button then colpase the sale details.
* Ability to create reports based on a certain criteria. (Example: A certain customer, between dates, for a certain item...ect)
* Graphical reports that display trends in sales.
* Totally scrap the way reports are done now, because it is kind of an odd way (the coding of them).
** The person has to be able to think creatively and come up with other ideas for reports. If you impress me a lot I will pay more.
Here is what I think needs to be added for sales:
* A more traditional POS interface that is very easy to use.
* Being able to print profesional looking receipts that can print to receipt printers
* Better integration with a barcode Scanner
* Adding customers and items on the fly to those specific tables.
** The person has to be able to think creatively and come up with other ideas for sales. If you impress me a lot I will pay more.
We will discuss the amount of pay if you decide to do this. I would also like these parts of the program to be delivered in a timely fashion. Code should be easy to modify and commented heavily.
One person can take both positions or if you want to do one part that would be good also.
