We're looking for a CMS that can build websites. What we want is for our clients to log on to our site and select one of our templates and then build a website through the browser. The user could upload images and change text, add new pages etc.

I'm currently creating a project exactly like this. Not opensource tough. Creating it for my company to sell it as a product. If you would like to create your own i would be happy to give you some tips.

well details...that depends on what you need help with. Of course you have to start from somewhere. Without knowing what exactly you have in mind, i'll try to briefly explain how it works.

Have a db with tables for pages, folders and websitesettings. Have a menu to add,delete,modify pages and folders. Of course these are everything virtual. Everything in the db gives the advantage of backing just the db and the site is backed up. It's not that hard really. Begin and you'll see.
