I'm looking for a classifieds system where I can sell equipment (softball supplies) but have not seen a program that does this very well. All of them seem to be geared toward personals or real estate.

Anyone know of one that is easily customizeable? I prefer a PHP/MySQL application.

Yeah, i have been using PHP Classifieds for a while... so far i havent experienced any problems with it and it has been running perfectly.

I was looking at that earlier. When a sale is made is there a way to have it removed form the listings? Does the seller come in and mark the record sold or something to that effect?

yes, the seller can, and I encourage them to do so, come back in and remove their ads once sold. You can also set the script to automatically remove ads after 90 days for example.

http://www.smartisoft.com/ has always seemed to produce some solid scripts! As a direct competitory of them, with one of their apps, I'm quite happy to say they are pretty solid competition, and thus good scripts!

I've looked at that phpBazar but it always struck me as more of a personals program than something I would need (strictly sporting goodfs sales)

One of their example sites seems to use it well though for classifieds and I could always remove the personals verbage in the code/template I guess. Thanks for the link!

A.B., thanks for the clarification on the other system. As long as sellers are not peppered with inquiries after they sell the item then it will be fine.
