Hotscripts - disappearing reviews?

I'm starting to doubt the integrity of Hotscripts review system.

I posted a poor review of a script I purchased based on completely unnaceptable customer service from the company that sold me the script. After I posted my review, the company made a sincere effort to make things right with me, even going as far as making some custom script modifications solely for my own use. I went back to Hotscripts and edited my review to reflect this effort on the part of the script author. I did not remove the information regarding the poor service, just added info about them making it right in the end. After all, it's more valuable for potential customers to know the full history behind a transaction than to just see perfect reviews of companies when it's unlikely that they are an accurate reflection of all business done with the company.

This is a product we paid 4 figures for. When making such a purchase from a small, unkown, overseas company, I need to have all the information I can get about them before making a decision. This is where the problem comes in.

When I made my edit to the review and it went into editorial review, it jusdisappeared completely. I emailed Hotscripts about it but never got a response. What happened to my review?

This script now has nothing but good reviews. Needless to say I am suspicious. I don't think I could spend over a thousand dollars again based on the reviews at Hotscripts.

I agree the editors at HotSripts are censoring the Reviews, I had several clients make reviews and they never showed up! OK, HotScripts will direct you to their Terms.. The review system is suspect.

A frequent HotScripts.com user...

Re:

It's good to have censored and reviewed comments being approved manually. I am readyu to contribute myself if they need for stuff of this sort.

Reviews are proof-read before they are published to ensure that there is nothing that shouldn't be there (ie inappropriate content, links to websites, etc). As for your review completely disappearing, that I'm not sure of. We normally don't delete reviews unless there is a reason to. If you'd like, you can re-submit it and then either PM or email me with the name it was submitted under so when I go through the list I'll make sure I find it.

I can assure you that reviews are not being removed... intentionally. We do not do this!

What I need to investigate is where they are going. Please let me know the Link ID you reviewed so that I can search the database.

Also, please note that we are in the process of redoing the entire backend of HotScripts.com, with a release scheduled for first quarter 2004. This is because we do so much custom stuff that the current engine has some "holes" in it, much like you are pointing out now.

Please post the link id you reviewed and I will search the database.

Thanks!

I agree. I never said I had a problem with the admin verification procedure. Only the disappearing review.

I don't think I'm going to go through the trouble of trying to recall all the specifics of my dealings with the company. The review is gone and that's the way its going to stay I guess.

I too faced the same problem as most of my reviews got deleted - Let me try to post one now and then see whether the reviews are taken.
