Question My script was delisted - why this?

Hi,

I don't really know why my script
http://www.phpwcms.de
was delisted from HotScripts.

I tried to contact HotScripts via email - no answer.
Re-registering is not possible - no why.

Does anybody has an answer for me.
My script - PHP/MySQL CMS - is Open Source.
The project website is in English.

It was available for some weeks under link ID: 27718

Regards
Oliver

You will need to contact abuse@inetinteractive.com for more information regarding your question. I remember rejecting that link and including that same email address for you to contact before.

I am 100% certain you know why your script was delisted. You have been emailed about this and have never responded back. Got html?

I'm sorry - but I did reply

Thanks for your info.

OK - here it is what I have written back to abuse@inetinteractive.com
on 12-20-2003 23:13

==================
What is wrong with my script at hotscripts.

You kicked me out of the index first because of one image HTML tag - phpwcms was listed under ID 27718. I was happy with your service - but what is the problem with my Open Source PHP script?

I tried to create a new link - but you rejected:
> 1. Unsuitable content.
> 2. Duplicate URL.
> 3. Non English content.
> 4. Your link is currently down, check and resubmit.

This is something I can NOT understand.

What do I have to do to get re-listed?

Sorry guys if I have made a mistake - but I really would know which one.

==================
No answer. Hm?

OK I tried again to register 12-21-2003 and the registering process was rejected - I asked again on 12-22-2003:
==================
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. PLEASE TELL ME!

[ ] 1. Unsuitable content.
[ ] 2. Duplicate URL.
[ ] 3. Non English content.
[ ] 4. Your link is currently down, check and resubmit.

1. it's an content management system
2. you have rejected my project phpwcms ID 27718 -
because of a html image tag - but there is
no link at hotscripts available at the moment
what means no duplicate URL
3. English content
4. site is available

Or will I never get the chance to be listed again at HotScripts with my open source project phpwcms?

==================
No answer.

Yes you are right. maybe: there was 1 thing I had in my script summary - an html image tag. But I never found any information about that this is forbidden. So there where no chance for me to change that to "allowed" content.

And I got absolutely no answer back on my emails.

If there is something I can do to be re-listed with phpwcms please tell me.

Regards
Oliver

Re:

Does this mean some HTML in the summary was the reason or there is something else ?

I would be glad to know. But nobody told me what's wrong or why I was delisted. The html part (only an real image tag) is not used for additional things - just a small phpwcms logo as I saw in other listings. And if somebody requests me to remove such summary content - no problem. As I told multiple times - I couldn't find any information that such html tag is forbidden. And if so - it's no problem to filter html tags out.

I think there are other reasons for delisting phpwcms.

Oliver

Honestly, why put all your eggs in one basket? There are a number of different script dist. site on the net. HotScripts may be one of the best, but there are options. And, if your work is good enough, you should have no trobule dropping it on your own site and offering it straight from there.

I often find conformity to rules and regulations put forth by those not directly involved in a script's development as nothing more than a hinderance to said project.

You are right: Now I have listed my scripts on several sites - but HotScripts had a very good response rate in very short time. So it seems to be the best.

And I think my script is good enough for HotScripts ;-)

Yeah, but then again a site like Hotscripts has to stay current. I would bet that's probably what his problem was. Someone reporting a bad link.

But why isn't HotScript able to tell me about that. No response.

No warning email or something like that - just kicked off and that's it. The info email about that fact said nothing about that - just multiple points you can choose from. But if none of the point is your problem - Hm...
