Thumbs down Thousands of dead links

I noticed that you have a lot of dead links in your directory. I reported many of them but the links are still listed. I think 25%-30% of all listed resources do not work. Why don't you clean your database? The quality of your content gets worse and worse and you don't mind?

Thanks for your feedback, but your stats are a bit inaccurate when you say 25%-30% are dead links. Within the last 30 days, we validated all links in the system, and deleted over 3000 resources.

We are on a monthly purging cycle at this point ... we verify links each month, notify those who have problematic links, and then remove them.

Why dont you enlist more people to enforce the process?

We no longer use a reporting method for deadlinks. We have an automated system that checks them throughout the month. Come first of August, you will no doubtedly see many links gone!

Hello Everyone:

Starting in August, we will be verifying the existence (non 404 File not Found or 500 Internal Server Errors) of all links, including the direct download of scripts as well.

This process will repeat itself every 7 days. We are thinking about additional methods for verifying links as well.
