Unsatisfied

Same procedure as for all my scripts: As soon as one of my script is included in the 'Top-Rated" of hotscripts with a realistic ammount of votes (less than 1 vote per 100 downloads) it is getting rated by poor vote(s) to be kicked out. Luck for all coders that spammed excellent votes for their own scripts before hotscripts enhanced their voting. Their spammed votes remain valid and hold their scripts leading. Unfair to the fair - YES.

Dear hotscripts, do you remember my post #5 and your statements above? You mentioned to consider the suggestions in your next release of hotscripts. But now more than a year has gone and again nothing happened. How long do you want to wait?

When announcing my scripts with hotscripts some years ago about 80% of the downloads were initiated from hotscripts. Nowadays approximately 30% of the downloads come from hotscripts. You are massively losing market. I'd be happy on a fair and leading hotscripts, so please, don't miss your opportunity.

Best wishes
Hans Bauer

Addition

Some smaller addition:

Last week my RPNcalculator was rated 4.92 and listed as #9 of 10 in the Javascript-section of your 'Top-Rated'. Now look today at your 'Top-Rated': 4,92 would now be #2 of 10. That means that 8 of your 'Top-Rated' scripts were spammed out the last days.

Sorting issue

Hello hotscripts team,

could you please explain me the sorting in the category
JavaScript :: Scripts and Programs :: Navigation :: Trees
  1. First all sponsored scripts are shown (OK)
  2. Then "ColorPicker Control" is shown which is not sponsored, last updated 2005/10 with 907 hits and no member reviews. It owns 2 excellent votes.
  3. Then TreeMenu follows, last updated 2007/02 with more than 19000 hits, 2 excellent member reviews and 56 votes with an average of 4.76.

Thanks.

I beleive the sorting algorithm was explained in a sticky or something somewhere ? I understand how frustrating it is though..

All categories are sorted identically to my knowledge (ie. we don't employ different algorithms per category)

Hi Skeleton Man,

the sorting is based upon the sorting points you can see within the "My Listings" after you logged in at hotscripts. You only have to click the sort-point link. But according to the given sorting rules the above described sorting surely is faulty.

Hans,

From what I can see, I would have to agree with you. It does sound like a bug (or else something undocumented is artificially inflating the other listing). As to what to do about it, I doubt there is anything you will find successful, but I wish you the best of luck.
