Question No mail when reply is posted to a thread.

Hi,

Location: Quick Reply for any thread

Description:

I do not get a mail when someone replies to thread which I am subscribed to. I have been wondering why.

Then I found that if I happen to do 'Quick Reply' ( Form at bottom of each thread), I do not get email when someone else posts on the same thread. But if I say, click Reply button and do a reply to thread, I get the updation mail.

In my preferences, I have set up to receive mails as default setting. Can we do something so that I get updation mails even though I have done a 'Quick Reply?'

Regards,
JD

I believe there is an add-on for this to where you can enable email notifications. I'll look into it but I wouldn't count on having it installed as vBulletin v3 is now in public beta stages and when it's released as a stable final version we'll probably upgrade the forums. However until then if you want email notification I'd advise just using the standard reply feautre.

If you are using the quick reply modification by Chen (FireFly) the addon for email notification is here:

Just my $0.02

(It doesnt modify the database so it wont cause problems with upgrading to vbulletin 3.0)

It doesn't matter if it modifies the database or not, the files are completely different (as well as the database) and anything you modify will be lost once you upgrade.
