Blog templates and XHTML?? HELP PLEASE!

I know that this is a DUMB question, but it has been bugging me for a while.

WHY DO ALL BLOGS HAVE XHTML 1.0 Strict pages?
Why is it so important to have CSS formatted pages for blogs?

WHY! WHY! WHY!

Please help.

well, me myself have been coding an SQLite Blog system, I have built its template system with XHTML !
XHTML proves that the coder knows what he is doing, I assume
beside it's cutting edge tech if I can say so

XHTML is the new emerging standard -- thus it's important to use it.

Using CSS is very important to separate content from presentation. The days of using tables to do everything are over!
