Better to have more pages on one topic or on few pages

I have a lot amount of content that I will need to publish but considering SERP,

1) is it best to create more website pages and separate the contents according...

2) or best to put the large chunks of contents on few pages?

For example: if I am writing a topic about Microsoft and I like to divide the contents to History, About, Events, Calendar, Gallery, CEO, and etc., would I create separate pages for each category or combine some of the topics into one webpage?

Depends

If it makes sense for you to break down your content into 'logical groups' then separate it out. 'History' of a company would most likely be a part of 'About'. 'Events' would be a different topic.

Generally you don't want to cram too much information in one page. I don't know about SE's but for your readers, one page that requires you to scroll quite a bit to reach the end is not very attractive and you do want to take that into account.
