Unhappy iframe background problem

Hello!
Um I have a problem with my iframes...

Here's what I did:
I made my website design through fireworks.
I set my canvas color to a shade of blue and then began drawing the design using layers.
After, I hit the slice tool and created a slice in the middle of the page where I drew that design. Then I exported the HTML to dreamweaver...

In dreamweaver, I clicked on the slice I exported and in the code this is what was highlighted:

<td><img name="index_r4_c2" src="images/index_r4_c2.gif" width="645" height="332" border="0" id="index_r4_c2" alt="" /></td>

So when I deleted that code and put in the iframe code
<iframe src="hometext.htm" width="640" height="332" frameborder="1"> </iframe>

and previewed the page, the background became the background of the "hometext.htm".

I understand that I can make my Iframe transparent, but when I set the code for transparency, the background became the shade of blue that I set for the canvas in fireworks.

SO my question is, how can I set the design I drew in, which is exported as an image slice, as a background that becomes transparent when I assign transparency to the iframe?

...I hope this makes sense ^ ^

Please clarify this for me:

The background that you drew on fireworks has no site content right? Its just a plain and simple background??

And what you are trying to do is place this image in the background and then build a website on top of it?

Because if that is what you are trying to do, there is no reason for a iframe.

Check this website out (this page and the one after this...there is a next button on the bottom):
http://www.echoecho.com/htmlbackgrounds02.htm

I think that should solve your problem...unless I have completely misinterpreted your question.

why dont you make your life easy and use CSS. try to avoid all these fancy images.
make your header / border <div> center aligned with 800-1000px and you will solve all your problems. I use fireworks only for sidebars and slideshows. I am not going against it but as i can see from your website you dont need anything spectacular. Also you forgot the comments down to the left " <!-- '> "

Thanks
Adam
