Hi.

I’ve got a simple form on my site which has the fields

Code:

-name
-company name
-email address
-query

-how did you hear about us
-preferred contact method.

I want to have a script validate the form to make sure these fields have been filled in

Code:

-name
-email address (validate to make sure its a valid email address)
-query.

I’ve inserted the "validate form script within dream weaver, but when I preview my site it validates to site straight away instead of when the user clicks submit.

is there anything I’ve done wrong

There are plenty of validation scripts around.
Btw, it's nearly impossible to tell if an email address is correct without using a serverside script in PHP/ASP etc to send a confirmation email. There are too many variations of email adresses, and people can always lie...
I don't want to be rude but, has anyone heard about searching?
Form validation scripts is the most common use of JavaScript on the web.
Hotscripts.com has plenty, and so do dynamicdrive.com
