What I want to do is make it so when I click "download" the file selected will start.

can this be done in javascript?

No, you cannot force Javascript to download files, unless they're zip files or exe files that are automatically forced to download.

oh well, it's ok... but could someone please lead me in the right direction on how to do this? I can't figure it out, any help would be greatly appreciated.
