What is a good ebook that will teach me straight forward on JavaScript?

I want a straight forward tutorial for web-developing I don't want to learn separate ways learning on functions I prefer to get hands on the creating pages with JavaScript. Also gives little explanation not a whole damn chapter.

I hate books that teaches you to do one function in a chapter and then I realize they're not even teaching me how to make a simple page. Just giving me a little experience.

I feel only if you get to know each and every concept in depth, it will help you out in writing programs. Its fine, if you are not interested in the chapter kind of stuffs, then go for the tutorials with try it options. I am sure those kind of javascript tutorials will teach you concepts in much dynamic and interesting manner.
