We are a Mac oriented website requiring a template developed for our new vBulletin forum. The prospective Developer should be able to preview past jobs he/she has done for us to evaluate. You should have a great, knowledgable background in vBulletins' backend and how it works.
1) We'll surely want something with a bent towards OSX. Please think about icons, graphics, etc that cater to that operating system. What motifs you use in the new template will need to cater to Applescripting. Otherwise, when straight navigation is concerned, I would prefer to use textual links over image links. The cleaner, the better. Feel free to surprise us. :>)
2) The boilerplate/header from our new design will need to be php #included and linked to our own style sheet. I am not sure if linking to our stylesheet is practical, or even possible at this point, and would look to the developer to advise.
3) We will need to have the main forum 'home page' mimic our new design. This will be taking advantage of our main, righthand navigation. The Main Forum Categories will be on the left.
4) Subsequent, forum categories would span the width of the browser space to 100%. We would like a slim column on the right hand side to accommodate Google ads. All other pages, such as View Posts, Reply, etc will span the full width of the browser to 100%.
5) It will be the developers sole responsibility for modeling and testing against all modern browsers for both platforms [PC/Mac]. We do not test against known 'beta' browsers. We prefer MacOSX developers, however working from a PC platform is ok, you will have to have access to MacOSX in order to test.
6) Once we have established and selected a developer, we will give you all working files for our stylesheet, page code, and header php includes. Should it be neccessary, I'll be happy to give the prospective developer admin rights to the BBS for installation once the template is finished.
We will only accept bids/quotes [no hourly rates please]. I will pay half down to start the job. Once you have completed the initial design, I can see a preview of the mockup on your server. Once I've seen the preview and it's ok'd, we make arrangements for either me to install the update on our server [or you install], and afterwards I pay the balance. We have $150.00-175.00 earmarked in US funds.
Feel free to Message me if should you need or require more information to quote intelligently.
Thanks!
