Intro
I'm representing an Entertainment Arts company prepared to make it big in Orange County. We have a strong user-base of supporters and enthusiasts already and simply need to get our website finished and online. Design for the site has already been completed, as has some of the needed PHP and database coding. Our developer has recently had to drop out due to a busy schedule (if you end up coming aboard, you could either start fresh or continue his code).
Purpose of the Website
The website's purpose is to bring together industry professionals, enthusiasts, and even students looking for work in all categories of entertainment arts, here in Orange County. We'll provide users access to an extensive article database, written and checked by our staff, the option to upload their resumes and/or portfolios, community forums, an event calendar used by members to advertise events, and a full yellow-page listings for users who register as vendors. We'll probably want to include more features and include pay-services as time goes by.
The site will require - User registration (possibly pay services included in the near future) with a hierarchy of users. IE: A basic user can view the site while a writer can post articles, a vendor can post a yellow-page ad, and an event coordinator can post events.
- Online Resume uploading, viewing, customizing by users for various categories of people in the industyr - Photographers will get their info plus a portfolio, Actors will get their info plus a headshot, etc.
- Options for the writers of the website to upload an article to the website (with the option of being checked by administrators) for viewing and searching by members.
- Community forums installed. This should be simple, the only real requirement is that a user should not need to register twice (IE: when they come to register for the website's features, it automatically signs them up with the forum database)
- Yellow-page type listings for registered vendors to post to and advertise on the website. This should be searchable by members, just like a regular yellow-pages.
- Event Calendar. The calendar, as visioned, will be a monthly calendar with text-headings to advertise for local events in Orange County. Later, paying users will have the option of uploading a graphic, and changing the colors of their ad.
For now, that should be all. Above is simply a brief description of each of the needed functions for the website. If you're interested, we can go over more details.
This would be a great oppurtunity for any PHP / SQL developer to take credit for what will be a very populated website for those in Orange County. In addition, we'll offer the developer his/her own credits/resume page on the website to advertise for their work and services, as a way to throw you back more business.
We're looking for someone with confidence to tackle the job above, preferably located in California, in or near Orange County. Outsiders are welcome for contact as well.
