I'm looking for someone to create a custom CMS for a bands webpage. The design of the actual page is near completion. Once completed, the CMS will need the following components.

*User Authentication
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'News'
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'Shows'
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'Links'
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'Bios'
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'Journal'
*Ability to Add, Edit, & Delete 'Users' that can manipulate the news, shows, links, bios, journal etc

Each of the following sections should consist of the following items that need to be included in each record.
*News will include Date, Posted by [current user], title, & content
*Shows will include Date, Time, Cost, Venue, Other Bands, Link, & Description
*Links will include Link Title, Link URL
*Bio will include Name, Bio, & Gear (for each user/band member)
*Journal will include Date, Time, Posted by [current user], mood, title, & content

Basically looking for someone to set up a database and a password protected area that the band members can log into and update the site. displaying of the info via php will be done by the design company. I'm just looking for the database and the pages to update it.

currently there is no deadline for theproject. we're looking at a website launch in late august or september so no real crunch for time.

I have done smoething like this before, and I can do it for you too, if you want.

Currently, I cannot recieve money, so consequently, I cannot recieve payment. Because of this, i will do this for you for free if you want. NOTE: Because I am doing this for free, it may take a little longer than if it were paid, but not much logner. Also NOTE: If I get a way of payment during the project, I will only collect pay for that part; not for the first part.

I will begin now, with the php/mysql part, as I have some free time, and that will give me a head start if you choose to use my services.

Anybody who offers to work for free seriously undermines any other freelancer's or business's ability to find legitimate work in these forums. As co-owner of my own web development and design business, I have taxes to pay and overhead costs. I must charge some amount of money to at least cover my expenses. Then of course there is the small issue of putting food on the table... ....And god forbid, maybe I want to make a small profit, too, so that I don;t have to live in a homeless shelter.....

The next time you decide to work for free, please consider the disservice that you are doing to your competition.....If you must work for free, please consider donating your time to a charitable organization instead.....like Greenpeace... .....It doesn;t really matter which organization you choose, as long as they are not-for-profit....Then at least you can write off the work as a charitable donation and receive a tax credit on your next income tax return....

And foremost, you don;t undermine the efforts of honest, hard-working people (like myself) who in large part depend on finding new work and client leads via these forums....

I would recommend you search for someone to use an existing CMS to set up your site. A good CMS person can integrate a powerful commercial CMS seamlessly into a site. Custom code can be a maintenance nightmare - especially if it was a low cost project.
