I'm looking for a php programmer to write a program for me
This program could greatly change education as we know it, so it
must be kept a secret until the time comes to distribute. By
reading on you are
agreeing to keep this information secret.
I'm wanting to get a database and an interface to control it that
compares to groups of data.
Students
and
skills
This program would be used by educators. On the web the educator
would log in to the system giving a password. Once in the system
the educator
will be able to
add students to the database
add skills to the database
edit categories
or call up a chart comparing students and standards.
When Adding a student the educator puts in the students first and
last name. They can also enter categories the student should fit
under such as
teacher, grade, school, principle, special programs, clubs, etc.
when adding skills to the database educators have three levels of
higherarchies they can work with. They can type in the skill name,
what categories
they belong to or what subskills their are. For example an
educator could type in division as the skill. They would then type
in the following under the
categories box; Math, arithmatic, state standard, etc. Under
subskills they could type double digit division, division word
problems, etc. A skill can be
a checked or unchecked skill. One that the child has or does not
have such as the ability to name the seven continents. Or the
skill can be numeric
such as his or her reading speed.
Under edit group categories the educator can altar what categories
a student or students fit under. They can put a category within a
category.
To open a chart the educator types in criteria for two groups of data.
Students and
Skills
Student criteria can be typed in by specific names or by categories
such as class, school, grade, etc. They can also be requested by
skills met or not
met. For example an educator can look up only students who can
locate all the counties in Asia, or only students who cannot locate
the countries in
Asia. Multiple criteria can be requested.
Standards criteria is typed in in the same way. Skills or skill
categories can be requested. Skills met by certain students or
not met by certain
students can be requested and multiple criteria can be typed in.
Once the criteria is settled on the educator can then hit the
search button and a chart pops up with skills across the top and
students going down the
side. Where a student meets a standard the box is marked where the
skill colomn and student row meets. If the skill is numeric then
there will be a
number in that space. If there are too many students and skills
requested then categories will be listed instead of individual
students and skills. If the
educators want to see more detail in a certain category they can
click on it and all the details will open. For example if a whole
school is requested
then grade levels will be listed down the side instead of student
names. The educator could click on a grade level and all the
teachers names will show
up. they could then click on a teacher and then the individual
students will show up. If There are categories showing instead of
individual students or
skills then percent and ratios appear in the boxes where categories
meet. For example if you have the category of 1st grade skills
compared to school
1st graders then where the column and row meets their would be a
ratio and a percent showing what percent of the 1st grade skills
have been met by
the first graders overall. Where there is a numeric skill an average will be shown.
With the chart open the educator can also mark a student or group
of students as having met a requirement or group of requirements.
they can
change the numeric value of a numeric skill. They can also select
a skill or student and edit the categories. I call the
program Camelot.
I guess that's it. I don't need someone to type in the skills and
students, I'm looking for a format to be able to easily type these
things in. My email is
