Need help with Image Hosting Script (paid)

Hey there, I have a new host, but for some reason I have been trying to install image hosting and file hosting scripts and they just do not upload to the server.

here is the one I want to use:

http://www.zhare.info

but as you can see when you upload, the output code shows NO image, just /folder/.gif or whatever, yet I have the exact same script upload the same way on:

http://www.phorum.ws/docs
and if you try it, works fine, and uploads the image to the server..

I first found this problem after trying to install about 5 scripts, and with years of php script installing experience, I knew there was more 2 it, so installed on other host (phorum.ws/docs) and worked fine...

I also have another script here, it uses no mysql, and is very simple, and yet still does not work:

http://www.zhare.info/imagehost

I installed this script, that another imagehost said to install to see if I have requirements (a more advanced script by the way)

http://www.zhare.info/phpinfo.php

and as you see all is fine (except for 1 small font thing).

so, this has got me stumped, It has gotta be something with the hosting, or something setup or turned off in the cpanel? dont know, this is why i need a programmer/admin

the hosting provider, still has no solution, and is asking me for script requirements, and no luck so far, I have paid for 1mth hosting, and it is just going to waste, so I might aswell pay soeone to figure out the problem...

why wont my site/host/whatver upload images from a number of diff image hosting/uploading scripts? but works fine ,first atttempt on my other host.

Can pay via PayPal.

Please post here, or PM.

See my post in the php forum section first. The phpinfo.php output that your link provides has no relevant information to help. I gave some code that will show the necessary information.

Your post here does contain important information, that you have tried several scripts with the same result. This does indicate it is something with the upload settings (or permissions) and probably not something to do with what a specific script is doing.

A lot of hosting companies don't really have the know how to be running a hosting service (and many are actually resellers anyway.) You might want to consider that this host does not know or cannot solve your problem in whether you want to remain with them long term.

thanks, I agree, all the hsting company is asking for are the requirements for the script(s)... and these are simply php4 or greater, and some of the advanced ones I have done with top10 downloads, and albums require safe mode OFF but thats about it... I have checked and rechecked permissions, and nothing I can see would reflect, I have chmodded folder to 777, and done everything, and I have been installing and using php for about 5 years+, so it is something I am just not picking up, I uploaded a phpInfo file like you suggested on other thread, but I am willing to pay to get this to work....

http://www.zhare.info/php_info.php

thanks i advance.

Hey, just to throw my 2 cents in, but I've been seeing a lot of premade scripts failing on random hosts, and one of the biggest reasons I've found for this is the use of globals and insecure php/apache settings. One host has them turned on, and the other doesn't would explain why the script has unexpected results. The requirements of php4 doesn't really define anything since the globals is now a default off rather than the default on.

Also, to defend the hosting companies, the one that has the script not working is probably the better one since they are probably using secure php settings where as the host that has it working, is likely unexperienced and insecure. Globals seems to be a lazy way of coding and defining variables so an erratic script like that should probably be looked at if not avoided.

Ask the script owner if they have a current version that doesn't rely on globals. Or write it yourself.

Just food for thought.

It turned out that the syntax of the php.ini setting for upload_max_filesize is incorrect (2500mb) and is resulting in a setting of 2500 bytes I guess. They meant 2500m or 2500M (either would work but not "mb".)
