Overview

We are looking for a long term relationship with a PHP/MySQL/XHTML developer that will organize / package / support our existing code base and build various customer driven and internal development initiatives.


Internal projects include the:

• extension of vTiger to provide T&M billing and Project Management functionality.
• design, extension and development of a proprietary enterprise collaboration platform with similarities to MS SharePoint.
• re-tooling and implementation of internal and customer portals.

The experienced developer:

• will provide valuable input and perspective with regard to development decisions for the business given the available resources.
• will naturally and consistently strive to provide intuitive, efficient (i.e. minimal clicks, maximum functionality), application interface.
• will consistently deliver secure, efficient, object oriented, organized and sufficiently commented code.
• will consistently meet self set project targets.
• has experience with version control best practices. Ideally will have experience with SVN/Trac.
• has strong written and spoken English skills with the ability to communicate accurately and efficiently.
• works well within a team environment and take a genuine interest in the team's success.
• will be available to work between 9 am and 5 pm GMT-5 as required.
• will be reachable via Skype (or telephone) and MSN when required.
• will recommend solutions according to business requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• Apache/MySQL/PHP
• Web 2.0: XHTML, CSS, AJAX

The following attributes would be useful:

• *nix experience
• Perl, shell script, Ruby on Rails, C, C++, C#
• Flash programming skills.
• Experience with graphic tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator .
• an affinity for the creation of simple, efficient UI design and an interest in UI / UML design.
• the ability to develop ideas in a brainstorming environment.
