ROBLOX is a downloadable game, but the website is half the play – it’s a game in itself. Our users spend almost half their time there – making clothes, trading ROBUX (our virtual currency) for tickets (our other virtual currency), making user ads, and chatting on our forums. We’re looking for an engineer who is smart and efficient, and who wants to take one of the top kids’ websites up to the next level of interactivity.
Who you are
- Experienced with HTML/DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
- Passionate about games, toys, and consumer products
- A college graduate with a degree in CS or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledgeable with Social Media/Applications (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Experienced (3+ years) with web application stack (.NET/LAMP/ Java/Ruby), and open to working mostly in .NET (it’s what our site and MySpace are built on)
- Fun and creative but totally serious when it comes to coding

Others as a 3D gaming version of YouTube: some users create and publish games, while others find and play them, like videos on YouTube but with the ROBLOX game client.
ROBLOX users have created a stunning assortment of games – cop-and-robber romps though brick cities, flight simulators, soccer matches, RPGs (dice rolling and shoulder mounted), racing games, demolition derbies, paintball capture the flag, and castle stormings. In fact, a new ROBLOX game is uploaded by one of our users every 10 seconds.

We are looking for a senior web engineer to lead the development of significant portions of our website and backend infrastructure. Experience matters, but capability matters more. We are looking for engineers who are smart, efficient, and tenacious problem solvers – engineers who demand to love their job and who always deliver their absolute best.
If this is you, and you have some or all of the qualifications below, we want to meet you. We’re a .NET shop, but if you’re seasoned in LAMP, Ruby, Java, or equivalent technology stack and are open to learning .NET (MySpace is built on it), read on.
REQUIREMENTS

* A proven history of achievement – creative, intellectual, academic, and/or professional
* 3+ years experience with web application stack (.NET / LAMP / Java / Ruby)
