UniversalWar.org is looking for web programmers to work for the next version of the game.

About the game

Universal War is a space, science fiction browser game where the commander becomes the leader of a planet and has to lead it to victory trough diplomacy, economy, research, construction and military operations: attacks and defence. The game is community based. Without a community it is not very fun. When the player signups he becomes a member of a system with other players. With them, even if he knows them or not, has to be like a family because the success or failure in the game depends on unity of the system.
However, the community interaction doesn't stop here. The political conflicts from the game are born between alliances, large groups of commanders that have the same ideal: to rule the universe.

Community and future development

Our development primary goal is to enhance the community. We are working thus on a lot of new things that will make communities stronger and more active. There will be ingame features for this and also outgame.

Programmer Requirements

Knowledge in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and Javascript (AJAX is a plus)
3-4 hours time to spend on the game every day until we finish the new version, then about 2-3 hours for improvements and bug fixing
Interest to work in a international team of developers, designers and graphic artists.
Good knowledge of english

Payment

The game is free right now and there is no payment for anyone that works on the game. However, once the new round will be open, there will be payment options in game and the profit will be split between game costs and team. Then, everyone from the team will receive a procent direct proportional with the work he has dedicated into creating the new version.
