nas / san

I am not sure if anyone here will have some expireince with this or knowledge of the technology, but lets find out.

i am looking at a 4ru 5 -8 tb nas server. if i add a fibre channel card to it that is compatible, can I run it correctly on a san? the nas will probaly run a win 2k3 version (not sure which) and then access several of these servers via a san that has a front end on another server. i hope that makes sense...
