I need to know how to get a PR... Right now I dont have one... neither google or alexa at least... any ideas on how that can change?

One way backlinks are the best way to increase the Page Rank of your site. You can do this through a variety of methods and probably using a combination of all of them is best

Social Bookmarking

Also keep in mind Google only updates the Page Rank every three months or so. Don't expect miracles two weeks after putting up a site it takes time.

Backlinks are good, but a backlink from a PR-0 site isn't exactly going to help (if you have a PR above zero, that is). If you're at zero, then get as many as you can. Update and add content to your site all the time. These news agencies all have PR-8 or better because they constantly come out with new content (along with other sites linking to them).

You need to look beyond the PR linking-back game and explore how your web destination brings "added value" to the online world.

If you're providing your visitors with a truly UNIQUE and USEFUL web venue, then the links will start popping up without you having to ask for them.

It'll mean working like crazy to create such a complete, professional and compelling web destination but those are the web sites that outperform all the "link-farm-a-holic" web-spam-pollution out there.

Alexa's ranking is solely based upon the number of visitors with Alexa toolbar, factoring in the amount of unique pages of your site they view. They also have a backlink list but it does not specifically affect your rank in their service.
