Question Trends/stats for programmers?

Hi again. I was doing some research for a project I have that focuses on how careers in programming (various) are doing in the current economic horror show. I thought this would be a great place to come for advice/opinions/help. I found some interesting general systems programming stats but I'm not sure how accurate the chart is. If it's correct, it would appear that programming is remaining quite steady regardless of the downturn of the economy.

Do you agree with this? And do you have any other sites where I might find info like this?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I agree... good accurate stats would be difficult to achieve. I personally am getting less "ongoing" work, such as site maintenance, updating, and SEO stuff... however I'm getting more business from startup small businesses. It's been an even tradeoff for me personally.

I tend to agree, therocket, some of the bigger companies are starting to cut back on their spending, but right now is a booming time for small startups. I think it's definately an area we can all benefit from.
